Dallas looked around as she quietly stepped into the cafe. She had just made the deal she had been waiting for. And she felt it was her duty to treat herself.
Friendly smiles were thrown in the directions of several ponies as she made her way past them. One in particular caught her eye. Niice. Dallas found herself mentally smirking as she looked Roux up and down. Inwardly laughing at herself, she proceeded to the counter.
Sliding onto one of the stools, she ordered a lemonade. After a minute or so, her order arrived and all she had left to do was wait for Drummer to come into view.

Deciding to make a stop at the Cafe before work that morning...or perhaps it was already afternoon...Dash walked with a swaying bounce in his step, two blocks over to the busy pink building. He was in a good mood, and it showed.
He moved with prancing steps up to the counter and hopped onto one of the stools, ordering a soy milk from the pony who glided silently up to him to take his order. It arrived within moments and he took a casual glance around the place as he sipped the cool, sweet drink.

Bi-colored eyes wandered over to the stallion sitting close by. He certainly was in a good mood...
"Hello." A bright smile was flashed in Dash's direction.
It was in Dallas' nature to introduce herself to anyone and everyone.

Dash smiled back at the mare. "Afternoon!" he said cheerfully. "Rainbow Dash," he added by way of introduction.
Then he tilted his head to one side, regarding her in silence for a moment. "Have we met before?" he asked. Something about her seemed familiar, but he couldn't place it.

"Dallas." She nodded once. So this is Dash, eh?
Shaking her head, she smiled. "'Fraid not. Though you do know my brother."
The smile soon turned into a smirk.

He blinked. Brother? Blinking again, he took in the multiple ear piercings and bi-colored eyes. "You mean...you're Tristan's...sister?" He hadn't even known Tristan had a sister...then again, there were a lot of things he didn't know about Tristan.
Suddenly he realized what her smirk must mean, and blushed delicately.

Her smirk grew bigger. "You seem surprised." An ice-blue eye winked. She knew very well that Tristan never talked about her.
"I must say, though, he has good taste." A mischevious glint was in bi-colored eyes as she turned to sip at her lemonade.

"Well...I suppose you already know he doesn't mention you much," he replied candidly. She didn't seem like the sensitive type---as Tristan's sister, she probably couldn't be---so he figured the words would leave her feelings undamaged.
Her next comment, however, served as a bit of an ice breaker and stroked Dash's ego, effectively allowing him to push aside what he knew she must have knowledge of. He chuckled. "Well thank you," he said demurely, taking a sip of his own drink.

"Nah. He never has." Dash was right in his assumption. She wasn't the sensitive type.
"You're very welcome." A friendly smile found its way onto Dallas' mouth. "So tell me, how long have you lived in Ponyville for?"
Not even thinking about it, a bi-colored hoof swept back strands of wavy hair, revealing the comb Drummer had gotten from Dash!.

He nodded...obviously, she and Tristan weren't close. He knew what that was like.
He smiled back at her. "All my life," he answered. "Ponyville born and raised. I own the jewelry store a couple blocks over." He gestured out the door with a casual hoof, turning back just in time to see her reveal the comb, His eyes widened momentarily. Then he grinned, remembering Drummer as he'd run in, all eager bounciness, taken a quick sweep over the merchandise, grabbed the comb, paid for it, and run back out all before Dash could blink. So this had been the reason. Good enough of a reason to me, he thought.

"I couldn't imagine growing up in such a peaceful community." She shook her head with a soft smile. "Tristan should have grown up here. It might have done him good."
This time it was her eyes that smiled. "Drummer showed me your store yesterday." A pause. "Along with the rest of Ponyville."
A soft chuckle escaped through her lips. What was she doing? He couldn't care less about what Drummer did.

"It has its perks and its drawbacks," he answered. "And lately, the city has been growing. Everyone seems to want to move here, now." He glanced around at the bustling cafe, then outside to the street.
He smiled. "I remember," he said. "He ran in and out like a whirlwind. I suppose I would have too, in his place." He snickered softly. "So, what did you think of our fair city?"

"That must be strange. Watching your home town change right before your eyes..." She tilted her head.
Dallas wasn't going to lie. Dash surprised her, even though she wouldn't let it show. "I still can't get over the fact that he did it."
She gave a warm smile. "I like it. It's got a very cozy feeling to it, I guess."

He thought about it for a moment. "Truthfully, it hasn't been that strange. It happened so suddenly, I had no choice but to adjust or be swept up in the rising tide...it didn't happen gradually at all. I had no time to reflect on all the changes. I just went with the flow." He grinned.
He chuckled. "Well now that I know who it was for, I admit I'm a little surprised as well." Not exactly the cheapest item in the store, he added mentally. "Considering he'd only just met you."
He smiled and glanced outside again. "Yes, that sounds about right. Cozy and friendly, hm?" He smiled.

Drummer entered the cafe through the rear entrance and got to work right away. He could hear that it was busy up front, so he walked out to see if he could take a few orders. Much to his delight, there, seated at the bar, was Dallas.
" Hey there you!" he said with a big smile that still reflected the cloud he was floating on from the night before.
He noticed Dash sitting nearby. "Hey, Dash! How's it going?" He gave him a quick nod.
Turning his attention back to Dallas, he gave her a little wink and asked, "I hope you weren't too bored after I left last night."
