The orange stallion, who was ever-so-faintly glowing himself, flashed Rose a charming smile upon seeing her, of course only remembering her body and not her heart. Glasye didn't care so much about feelings.
"Aww, Rosie-love," He purred, "We've only just been reunited!" His orange eyes penetrated hers, "And I've missed you terribly."
"I've seen you before," Tsuwari said, eyes hooked on Glasye, "You were in my dreams. You're the big orange pony!" He looke up at his mother, then back at the powerful stallion. "What's your name??"
"I'm Glasye, Tsuwari," The stallion said with pride, swishing his tail. "My, how much you've grown."
The foal looked at Glasye, the picture of puzzlement. He had surely never met the stallion before, but he had seen him, in dreams and visions. What was he talking about?
"How do you know my name? I don't think I ever met you," The foal said, blinking his eyes.
"You mean you haven't told him, Rosie?" Glasye asked the red mare, looking hurt. "I thought he would have known!"
"Tell me what?" Tsuwari looked at Glasye, who was looking at Rose. "Mama? Tell me what?"

A chill ran down the lengths of Rose's spine. Glayse's smile was bright and intoxicating, but Rose knew that it was merely just his natural charisma, that it was nothing else.
"I missed you more when you were just a ghost.," she spat back, just hoping that maybe, just maybe, his fleshy form was more or less an illusion.
Then again, how was it even possible for Glayse to honestly be present? Set had established the barrier around her home, Glayse shouldn't be there, with or without a living body. Unless...That back stabbing god!
"Tsuwari, please, just go up to your room, lock your door, and don't leave no matter what you hear.," she instructed him sternly. She moved her red body between the foal and his father. By now, it was anger that began to drive the unicorn over her fear. She would not have it! Set would get his when she was done with this situation. First, Glayse had to be taken care of.
"Leave Glayse, before I force you."

"But I'm not as much fun... not in the flesh," He grinned, completely unphased by her obvious attitude. "I had a little.. favor.. done for me recently."
"Aww, don't make him leave," Glasye pouted, "He really should know, you know.. it's a crime to keep that kind of thing from him."
Tsuwari pressed against Rose's flanks, not at all intent on leaving this intruiging conversation. "Mama!!" He said impatiently, "What. should. I. know?!"
"Leave Glayse, before I force you."
"You wouldn't kick me out, would you, Rosie-love?" Glasye's new powers kicked in, and he gently but forcefully moved the mare aside so he could see his son more clearly. He didn't want to hurt her.. he still had uses for her, after all, and she DID bear his only son.
"But I will honor your request and take my leave," He sighed dejectedly. Set's calls were so strong the stallion felt he would go deaf and have his head explode if he didn't report to battle.
"Tsuwari," He addressed the eager young foal, "Did you ever wonder who your father was?" He smiled at Tsuwari and gave him a wink before looking to Rose's eyes. Tsuwari simply stared. Glasye said nothing more, only reared, turned, and headed off at a full gallop to Ponyville's Square.
Once the stallion was gone, Tsuwari looked at the freed Rose.
"...Mama?"

Rose glared at the spot Glayse had formerly been. She was not expecting him to leave so suddenly and so willingly. Deep down, in the part of her rebellious heart that still fawned over him, he was sorely missed. It was a conflicting painful emotion to see Glayse, but know all too well he was nothing more than a conniving piece of the dark rainbow. It never would've happened...maybe if I never had Tsuwari I'd still think I could change Glayse...but I'm not going to be the naive little girl I was.
Sadly, she lowered her head, letting go of her strong facade. "Tsuwari," she turned her head to look down at him. A swelling pinch began to form in the back of her throat, and Rose gulped, trying desperately to fight back growing tears. She couldn't break down, not now, not in front of Tsuwari.
Slowly, she gathered the foal in her arms and headed towards her living room. There, she sat down on the couch and gave her foal a tender hug. "Tsuwari, we have to talk."

Tsuwari was very concerned by the stallion's appearance and his mother's uncomfortable emotions. He was also still confused about what Glasye had said, and what he had meant by his last comment. Tsuwari never had thought about having a father. His young mind tried to draw the most likely conclusion out of all this. The orange pony had mentioned his father.. and it made his mother sad.
"Mama," He looked up into Rose's purple eyes, not wanting her to be upset but at the same time wanting to know what was going on. "My daddy.. did he die? Is that why I don't have one?"

Did he die? Rose closed her eyes painfully. Images flashed through her mind of gray brain matter splattering the ground in an organic soup of sorts. The unicorn breathed in deeply and held the breath there. How it hurt so much...
"No.," she breathed out, finally. After all, it wasn't a lie in a way. Glayse was a part of one whole, only when the Dark Rainbow had been split did he have an actual body. Even since then his ethereal form was always present, if not partly locked away in ice. "Your father...he wasn't whom I thought he was when I first met him. He never died....just was taken far away from here."
It pained her to say such things. She'd hoped, prayed that she could explain it to him when he was a little older. How much could she guard safe in her mind without revealing too much? Tsuwari was too young to hear the details of his conception.

Tsuwari's first thought here was that he did, indeed have a father, and not only that but he wasn't dead! Maybe he wasn't far away, maybe he'd come home someday..
"What do you mean he wasn't who you thought he was?" The confused little foal wanted to know, hard as it would be to understand, "And who took him away?" Anger flashed before the little one's Glasye-reminiscent eyes. "If you know where he is, we can go get him and bring him back.."

"He acted different after a little while. He did a lot of bad and mean things. He hurt a lot of people.," she said calmly. He'd tricked her, he used her, and he killed so many others.
"I'm not sure who took him," was her honest reply. When he died she'd literally locked herself in her home for days. It was only through gossip that she heard the Indigo's body had been frozen containing all the different stripes. "Tsuwari, it's hard to say it, but your father was a naughty pony. We can't find him because he's being punished for being such a bad pony."
Rainbow she could only hope that was the case.

"Oh," The foal replied quietly, ears drooping. He suddenly felt shamed, and angry. How could his father do that? Tsuwari dwelled briefly on the idea of being bad, and being taken away.
"Mama, if I'm bad, does that mean that someone will come take me away too? I don't wanna go away from you!" The little unicorn clung to his mother, distressed by the situation as a whole and still with unquenched curiosity. "Will he ever come back, when he's not being punished anymore?" Tsuwari didn't even come close to considering the idea his father could be killed as a result of "punishment."
His mind drifted back to the orange pony who had visited them earlier. "But Mama.. who is Glasye? Why did he visit today?"

"No, of course not!," Rose huffed in reply. Though, could it? The town now wasn't being very defensive of Tsuwari, but it eventually would. They easily could see his likeness to Glayse, it would only seem natural to try to oppress his offspring. Anyone could realize Tsuwari's potential, both good and bad. If he had ever swayed from the right path... "If anyone tried to take you away, I'd come with you. I'll never leave you alone."
She nuzzled him affectionately, reassuringly. "As for Glayse...he was an acquaintance. He isn't very kind either, I would feel better if you don't talk to him."

Tsuwari was much comforted by the idea that he'd never be separated from his mother. He already felt slightly ostracized by those others in Ponyville, and had no desire to feel any more different. He tucked away everything Rose told him.
"Glasye is a bad pony?" The foal asked, "He doesn't seem bad to me.. is that what it means when a pony glows like that? It's like your horn glows.. but his whole body does. What should I do if he comes back?"

"Not all ponies that glow like that are bad.," she instructed him. After all, the ponies that had been touched by the Rainbow of Light glowed with power on occasion.
"He may not seem bad, but that's to trick other ponies into believing he isn't. If he ever comes back, try to get away from him." Rose then thought about what she'd said. Glayse would have no reason to harm Tsuwari. He had sired him, after all, and he had showed interest in bringing Tsuwari to great power during his nightly visits. Still, the thought of Tsuwari anywhere near him was downright frightening.
"Yes, just try to avoid him.," she restated. Her eyes looked towards town. She was feeling edgy. If Glayse was not here, then he was there...more likely with Set. She should be out and fighting, driving back the foes to her foal. If only she hadn't had to sit and protect him there.

"I will, Mama.." Tsuwari assured her, marking Glasye as an enemy in his mind. Tired of the serious talk, the little foal leapt from his mother's lap to the floor. He took a few steps, then stopped and stood still for a moment. Tsuwari turned and looked back at Rose.
"Mama, is something.. bad.. happening?" He asked, as if he couldn't tell what he was feeling or thinking. His expression was intuitive.

"It...might be." Rose was tired of trying to hide the lies. It would be a pain to worry him, but if it came down to having to flee for their lives? Well, it was better for him to realize that it was a time for caution if the danger grew outside the town.
"Try not to worry. We should be fine here for a little while." Oh Rainbow, she'd better have the strength to run if she had to.

Just then, the front door burst open, Glasye falling into an orange heap. His glow was gone, since it had been connected to Set's power. "Rose.." He coughed, bleeding from his stomach, orange body dotted with various bruises. "Please, love.." He was by far exaggerating the extent of his injuries, "Help me."
He looked up into her purple eyes, face strained. "Set is gone," He coughed again, "So I am free from him. Please help me.."
Tsuwari's jaw hit the floor as soon as Glasye appeared. The foal's eyes were immediately drawn to the red leaking from the stallions body. For a moment he stood there, frozen, until he regained his wits and turned on his heel, running to his room.
