Rose's red jaw hit the floor. Only when Tsuwari bolted to his room did Rose removed herself from her revere. Set was dead? He was dead? No...he was a god, hadn't he been?
She suspiciously approached him, eyes narrowed down. "Is that so?" It was said like molten lead, heated and heavy. She swallowed loudly, trying to ignore his injured body. For all she knew it was another of Set's tricks....yet...where was Glayse's luster?
There had been a battle...she had felt it, she knew it was going on yet....she no longer felt genuine fatigue. Perhaps there was minor truth to his story...
Her lavender eyes traced the wounds, with a heavy sigh, she gave in. Evil or not, her heart could not find it in herself to leave him broken in her doorway. Others could see. She grabbed hold of him and began to hoist him to his feet. "Get to the couch. I should have some of the home remedies left over from yesterday."
Swiftly she returned with a paste, a drink, and bandages. The paste would serve as an antiseptic and a sealing agent, the drink a pain killer.

"Yes," He responded with a pained expression, "The silver unicorn smashed him to pieces," Well, this much was true.. he just hadn't bothered to mention that each piece was still a tiny little Set.
Glasye slowly rose to his feet and moved toward the couch. Honestly grateful for something comfortable to lie on, he stretched his muscular, handsome body out, being careful of his stomach.
"It was quite a battle," He said slightly hoarse, "But the dark gods are gone," Well, for the most part, right? "And I've come back to you.. like I said I would.. I'm here for you now, Rosie.." He locked his hypnotic orange eyes with hers, making every effort to put false sincerity into everything he said.

Rose paused and gazed deep inside his daybreak orange globes. They were so brilliant, like the combines resonance of a million sunrises... How the rebellious mare could gaze into those beautiful irises! Something stirred inside her...
Rose let an arrogant smirk tug on her lips. And she laughed. "You're pathetic, Glayse." It's all she had to say. Expertly she began to apply the paste to his open wounds, tenderly smoothing it out, then wrapping it tightly with a bandage. Once she was finished, she gave him the drink. "It's bitter, but it'll help some."
Nervously, she rubbed a red hoof through white hair. She had not been expecting this. Not in a million years.

Glasye groaned and sighed with relief as Rose applied her administrations to his wounds. He was already beginning to feel better.
"You're pathetic, Glayse."
The stallion gave her his best sheepish look. "That's why I need you to take care of me," Puh. As if a stallion of his stature needed anyone to take care of him. Well, she COULD take care of some very specific needs...
"It's bitter, but it'll help some."
Glasye inwardly scowled, and downed the bitter drink. He breathed out, slightly wrinkling his nose against the taste. He sighed, and turned to look at Rose. He watched her for a few moments, then reached up to gently touch the white rose petal symbol on her cheek.
"Rose.." He whispered, tracing the contour of her face. "Gods, I've missed you so much. You're so beautiful," He let his hoof continue down her shoulder, resting upon her hoof for a moment before dropping toward the couch. His eyes continued to watch her.

His touch was warm, and gentle, something one very caring would give...or whom practiced a lot.
Rose Rebellion shuddered, standing from her spot and stepping to the other side of the room. "I'll have none of that.," she said it bitterly. He'd done this all before. Called her beautiful, sweet talked her into caring for him, letting him use her.
Guess what Glayse, you're a day late and a penny short. It would take more than kind words and flattery to sway her grown guard towards him.
"I'm only doing this because you'd saved my life. I'm only returning the favor." It was cold. A perfect excuse. She wasn't sure why she brought him in. Perhaps she still did have mixed emotions, but this time her head was on straight. Romance was never perfect, and Rose Rebellion accepted the task of Tsuwari. It didn't mean she had to accept his father reborn.
(remember the poison?)

The orange stallion sighed, making sure he appeared hurt instead of frustrated. Mare, why must you be so difficult? Any other mare would die to be with me! This is much of what made Glasye so intent on Rose--she was a challenge. The stallion rested his cheek on the arm of the sofa, eyes down.
"I'm sorry, Rose.." The words were very difficult to say, but Glasye delivered them with expertise. He let the words sink in a moment, wanting to give Rose ample time to consider them.
"How is Tsuwari coming along?" He asked after a moment, much the interested father. "Is he healthy, happy?" Rainbows, like it mattered if he were happy.. all that mattered is that he was Glasye's only living son, and that he grow to become powerful and cunning like his father. Glasye knew, in the back of his mind, that the time would come when these dratted Ponyville ponies would weed him out, and get rid of him once again. And now there was no Set to bring him back. Tsuwari was his only way to make sure not all of him was forgotten. "If you need anything from me for him.. just tell me."
Glasye, appearing humbled by now, snuggled his face against the arm of the couch, closing his eyes for a moment.

The words left Glayse's mouth so easily, yet deep down, the stung. Was Rose really just over analyzing the situation? Was it possible that he just was truly sincere? She'd been taught to give the benefit of the doubt....but it was so hard when knowing what he did before. Her heart began to scream in his defense, but her mind was not ready to accept him, yet.
She released a sigh, Glayse would truly be a challenge of her resolve.
"Tsuwari...," she spoke his word with the affection only a mother could have. "He's been very well. Full of energy, always getting into trouble. He's a horrible habit of zapping things." At this she laughed lightly, rubbing her leg in a spot he'd done it a day or two prior. "I think you'd be proud that he zapped Set."
It seemed ridiculous to mention that to him. She had scolded him at the time, but now that she wasn't so fond of Set, she was very glad he had.
"I'm happy with him, and he seems happy too. He isn't as social as I'd like, but I'm sure there are several reasons why that is.," she refused to mention what, as she was sure he knew.
"You know I love him, Glayse. I'll do anything to protect him from harm, even if it's against you."

"He's been very well. Full of energy, always getting into trouble. He's a horrible habit of zapping things... I think you'd be proud that he zapped Set."
"Aww, that's good to hear," Glasye chuckled, wincing at the pain this caused his stomach. "As far as Set.. I'd have electrocuted him if I could," The orange stallion said distastefully, "Anyone who brings that kind of trouble to my mare and foal.. I won't tolerate it," He added protectively, looking toward the window.
"I'm happy with him, and he seems happy too. He isn't as social as I'd like, but I'm sure there are several reasons why that is.,"
"Yes, and I apologize that such is my reputation," What a wonderful reputation it is, might I add! "As far as his social skills.. why not sign him up for a class? Find him a playmate? You know, if that gold mare you knew who tried to kill me had ever had a foal, they could have been friends.."
"You know I love him, Glayse. I'll do anything to protect him from harm, even if it's against you."
"I want nothing more than to see Tsuwari happy and successful," Glasye responded seriously. Well, yeah.. happy he's my son, and successful in something short of taking over the world. That'll do.

"Anyone who brings that kind of trouble to my mare and foal.. I won't tolerate it." Two very prominent conflicting thoughts and emotions sprung up at this. One of endearment, and the other of down right anger. How dare he...?! I'm nobodies mare! I'm not some property...
She'd nearly missed his later words. "Ah, Jewel...I'm sure the way things are going he will have a playmate shortly.," she answer him towards his statement. "As far as classes, I've considered it. He spent some time at the beach the other day, he was taken in by an orange filly." She shook her head, again with amusement. "He really loves orange. Can't blame him."
Then she bit down on her tongue for allowing such a slip. Easy Rose, it's just a color after all.

"Ah, Jewel...I'm sure the way things are going he will have a playmate shortly.."
"Rosie-love?" The orange stallion asked gently, inwardly grinning ear-to-ear. He had witnessed a lovely murder, after all, "Not unless it's already been born, he won't. If we're thinking of the same mare.. She was killed by Set shortly before I left," He lied, though only partially. "That's part of the reason why I'm so glad Set himself was destroyed.. that was part of the reason I wanted to come back, to make sure he didn't hurt you or Tsuwari," He finished his statement quietly, as if ashamed to admit some true emotion. Though, in reality, he really had none. He had rather enjoyed the gold mare's downfall.
"As far as classes, I've considered it. He spent some time at the beach the other day, he was taken in by an orange filly."
That's my boy, the fillies are all ready after him,Glasye smiled proudly, though only for a second. "You should get him involved in something constructive," Glasye responded in a fatherly way.
"He really loves orange. Can't blame him."
"It's a lovely color," Glasye smiled in a cocky, but somewhat joking way. "I only wish *you* were more fond of it.."

Rose's eyes widened, and her breath caught up in her throat in a loud gasp. So she was right, there was a battle going on. "Jewel's...dead...," she murmured it in disbelief. Her red skin palled. Grief wasn't the first thing to ultimately hit her, but rage. Her small, red shoulders began to tremble with an energy she would have easily put to use in such a battle, but here in a home lacked the type of recreation to take it upon. Her teeth ground together as she clutched her eyes. It wasn't fair, it just wasn't. The gods had no right to come here, had no right. Like the Dark Rainbow had no right. She'd have thrown a fit much like she had when Glayse originally died...but since then her home had become childproof. Anything of glass in nature was tucked in storage; there was nothing to throw against a wall in anger. So merely, the red unicorn clutched the arms rests of her recliner tightly, continuing to shake with boiling rage. (Go on Glayse, comfort her )

Glasye had to admit that he was happy the news had struck her such. Now she was more vulnerable than before, much more suceptible to his influence, even eventually his control. He did like the challenge of such a stubborn, headstrong mare. What he liked even more was that he was making progress with gaining back her trust.
Sitting up with exaggerated pain, Glasye patted the sofa next to him with one hoof, holding out the other to her. "Come here, Rosie.." He crooned in a soft, caring tone.

Rose forced her eyes open with some effort to see where Glayse had patted. With rigid, tense, movements she walked over to the injured stallion and sat down beside him. And there she sat, body trembling with such fervor. So similar to Tsuwari's own fit of anger, but Rose consciously never made the connection.
"I only wish Set were still alive so I could smack the hell out of him." At this time hot angry tears began to bubble out of her eyes, her trembling never subsiding once.

Slowly, the orange stallion wrapped an arm around the mare, pulling her head against his broad chest. With the other, he brushed her mane back, then held her close to him. He gently rocked her, rubbing her back and breathing into her white mane.
"Shhh.." He whispered, nuzzling her mane, "I know it hurts.. but it's ok.. It'll be alright, Rosie-love.."

Whatever held back Rose before broke down that moment. Her body turned and her arms wrapped instinctively around Glayse's body and she burried her head in his chest. What was once a body shaking with anger was now a body trembling with sobs.
"It's not fair...! It's not fair...!!," she whispered harshly into his coat as tears began to stream her cheeks. Jewel was so kind to her. Never once looked down on her because of Tsuwari, because of who he was. She never asked, she purposely over looked it. On more than one occaision she had taken care of him.
