Rose turned her head but slightly, looking at the couch ridden Glayse out of the corners of her eyes. "Tsuwari's the most important thing in my life," she murmured softly to Glayse, out of Tsuwari's ears, "He's changed my life a great deal, and I'm proud of that, and him."
Leaving Glayse to muddle over that, Rose stepped into the kitchen. "Well, we'll just have to nuke it." She picked up the plate and turned towards the microwave. Personally, the rebellious unicorn didn't mind what temperature her own pancakes were. There were days she'd take the left over ones from the fridge and eat them cold.
Once warmed, Rose returned the plate to her foal. "Remember what I said, no messes today." Set's demise had eased some of her fatigue, but it was still very present. Absently, she grabbed her own abandoned plate and began on her late breakfast, thoughts drifting back to Jewel.

"Well, we'll just have to nuke it."
"Nuke it!!" Tsuwari repeated excitedly, giggling. Once the microwave dinged, the little foal ate the rest of his breakfast, with plenty of syrup. In Tsuwari's opinion, there was no such thing as too much syrup. Ever.
"Is Glasye gonna stay here?" He asked with a mouthful of pancakes.
Out in the living room, Glasye's eyelids began to droop. He was exhausted after the past day of fighting, and with a newly acquired body. At least I made the necessary changes before Set came to his.. demise, he thought with a smug grin. Adjusting himself slightly, the stallion rested his head, golden-orange locks falling against his face. With a sigh, Glasye closed his eyes....

"For the time being, atleast.," Rose mentioned to him. Her eyes briefly darted to Glayse's form, slowly falling to slumber. She made a mental note to lower her voice.
"We have to be quiet though, he's in a lot of pain and needs some rest." Rose licked her hoof and rubbed a stuck mark of syrup from his cheeks. Once satisfied, she nuzzled him.

"For the time being, atleast.,"
Oh no no, Rosie-love.. the stallion thought tiredly, You won't get rid of me THAT easily.. I have yet to take our son from you.. so get those silly thoughts out of your head. Glasye had plans, in a way, but not any that were yet solidified in his mind. He was a creative stallion.. he'd find a way around opposition. He may not have his siblings with him, but he was almost glad they weren't there.
With those thoughts turning in his mind, Glasye drifted off..
"We have to be quiet though, he's in a lot of pain and needs some rest."
Tsuwari grimaced, then giggled as his mother cleaned his face, fighting the urge to say, "Maaaaamaaa!" in a whining voice. His mind, as always, bubbled with questions:
"How long will he be here? Is he good now? Can I play with him? Why is he hurt? What happened?"
Ah, the curiosity of foals.

"I don't know, Tsuwari," she said in responce to all of his questions. It was in fact the truth. How long would he stay? Depended on how soon he healed and whether he behaved. Was he good now? Highly unlikely, a slim possibility, but not very probable.
The hardest part of this question was Rose just couldn't easily tell. Glayse easily held a front, as was proved in the past, and even though Rose knew clearly of his prior actions and his manipulative ways, he was so elussive to her silent interogation that an answer was complicated.
Could he play with him? Certainly not in Glayse's current condition, not unless he was going to zap him again. But after he healed? Even if Glayse had pure intentions, could the former evil stripe handle the short attention spand and prone to temper tantrums foal? It seemed unlikely, and the more Rose pictured it, Tsuwari would have Glayse begging for mercy. Something she was certain would be a rebellious attitude she'd passed on to him.
What happened? Well....Rose would like to know that as well. As far as she could collect and form in her own mind was that Set played a key roll to that. Chances were he had in some way revived him for services during the battle....which clearly didn't swing the way Glayse and Set had wanted. The red unicorn could only conclude that Set's death left Glayse high and dry and in need of her help. Still....it was still so hard to say for certain.
"Do you want to go sit outside?," she asked him softly. Rose had no intentions of taking him anywhere past the yard. If a battle was going on, she'd at least like to catch a glimpse of things and judge how well it faired. It was also an excuse to see if Ponyville had any current intentions of hunting Glayse down.

"I want to know what happened to Glasye!" Tsuwari said slowly, sliding down from his chair and stamping a feathered hoof on the ground. An injured stallion mysteriously appearing in their home was too exciting to ignore. Tsuwari wanted to bombard him with questions, and play with him if he could. "Then maybe I wanna play outside.."

"Tsuwari, I told you before. He was punished for being a naughty pony," she whispered to him, pleading that his questions would subside. She wasn't ready for Tsuwari to even know of Glayse, yes here he was in person, putting a wrench in her hard worked plan to raise Tsuwari well. No, she reminded herself. It was still possible that Glayse may repent, therefore would abandon any ideas to put any thoughts into Tsuwari's head.
It still wasn't a very pleasent situation. She silently wished Jewel was there to tell her what to do...then the news hit her again, the only signs of this was Rose's saddened sigh.

"Tsuwari, I told you before. He was punished for being a naughty pony,"
Tsuwari's ears flattened for a moment, slighlty shamed that his mother was reprimanding him, even just a little, "Yeah," He whispered back, "But what did they do to him? Did they stick him with something sharp? Is that what happens to you when you're bad?" It was hopeless. Tsuwari wouldn't be content until all his questions were answered. And even then, he'd have new questions to ask.

"It's possible, but it doesn't happen every time you're naughty.," she responded. It was becoming more and more a strain to keep her son satified.

Tsuwari's short attention span now preoccupied with the idea of playing outside, he simply responded, "Ok," to Rose's explanation. Restlessly shifting his weight, Tsuwari asked, "Can we go outside now?"
In the living room, Glasye mumbled quietly to himself, "Did someone say 'naughty'...?"

Not that kind of naughty... Rose chose to ignore Glayse's murmur.
"Yes, we can go out.," she responded, "But you can't leave the yard, and you can't go to town." Not that Rose gave Tsuwari permission to leave the house alone and go as far as town.
As Rose stepped outside, her head turned in the direction of town. Terrible sounds came from that area, and inside Rose felt a sinking feeling. She made a silent prayer that the battle did not head in this direction.

"Mama," Tsuwari followed her gaze and perked his ears, stepping besider her outside, "Is there a festival going on?" He asked this in a very half-hearted manner, feeling deep in his unicorn's gut that something was terribly wrong. He looked up at the red mare with frightened eyes.

Red ears flipped downward and pressed against Rose's head. The unicorn would admit that she was easily frightened by the sound of battle going on. Growing up in Dream Valley had left her accustomed to hearing the sounds, but it didn't make her any less frightened. Having Tsuwari near her, however, helped force her from getting too worried over the matter. She had to look strong for him.
Silently, she was also thankful that Glayse near as well. Despite his current condition, Rose had witnessed him in battle before, and he did not go down easily. If anything, Glayse would only fight for himself if trouble brewed down here, but if he could single-hoofedly push back the forces, it meant less work for her.
Then again, Glayse could surprise her in valiantly trying to defend her and their colt, if it appeared he was doing as such.
"No," Rose Rebellion finally answered her foal, "It's far from a festival." She knew that by now Tsuwari was well aware that something was going on. Rose had dropped hints through out the morning. Truth be told, at this point Rose had told her foal more lies that morning concerning his father than Rose was comfortable admitting. She was tired of lying to her child, and he had right to know of that was occurring.
For the first time since they'd walked out, Rose's lavender eyes turned away from the town and to her child beside her. "Tsuwari..." How could she even begin? Surely there was no easy way to explain what war was, a way to enlighten him but without causing need for concern? No, Rose was being silly. There was no way around frightening him by her words.
The unicorn released a troubled sigh. She should have been out there now, joining in the fray, being rebellious and taking down Set. But Set's gone. I have no other reason to fight than that.
"Tsuwari, there are times in life when ponies are driven to do...terrible things.," she tried to sound strong and nonchalant, but her voice was soft and tired. "By terrible things, I mean what had happened to Glayse inside, or even possible to kill."
For a second, her mind flashed with the image of Jewel, and she swallowed hard. It was a valiant attempt to halt the tears threatening to stain her cheeks, but it was only an attempt. She blinked, only a few dribbles managed to escape silently, before Rose could stop the others. Again, she started her explanation. "It's hard to accept...but it just happens."
The mother turned her head from the child and looked back towards the town in the distance. With her horn she pointed out distinctively where she believed the battle be occurring. "These terrible things are happening in town now. The naughty ponies have been driven to kill others, and then there are those that are driven to fight in hopes to keep the town safe."
Rose paused a moment to allow such a large and serious amount of information sink into Tsuwari's head. "I'm telling you this for a reason. If things get bad and the naughty ponies head this way, we might have to run. I just want you prepared for the worst situation."

"These terrible things are happening in town now. The naughty ponies have been driven to kill others, and then there are those that are driven to fight in hopes to keep the town safe."
After staring at his mother as she spoke, Tsuwari's gaze turned toward town, as if the bad ponies might come any second. A breeze blew, sending chills down the foal's spine. He could feel it. He didn't know how, or really what he felt, but something was amiss. Part of it was scary, terrifying, but another part... felt oddly.. natural.
Tsuwari shifted his weight uneasily, then snorted and stamped a small feathered hoof in frustration. He kept looking toward town. His knees began to tremble slightly, though he wanted to look brave for his mother. He saved her from a scary pony before, but how many could he handle?
"But Glasye is good now.. isn't he? I mean, he got punished, but he's.. he's.." Tsuwari couldn't find the words. He was so confused. He really liked something about Glasye, but didn't know what or why. And it scared him.
"Him and me we.. we could face bad ponies.. we could..." Tears began to well in the foal's eyes. Rainbow, he was so confused!
Inside, Glasye awoke with a start. Sunset orange eyes looked around, making sure there was no immediate danger. A dark god lingered near... perhaps after him for abandoning the battle. The stallion tried to feel it out.. Eshu? The god crazed enough to kill a perfectly good mare, though Glasye did admire his evil intentions. Still, he might wish to cause harm to Tsuwari or Rose, in an effort to get revenge on Glasye for abandoning the gods in the battle. Getting up with a groan, though he felt much better since Rose's administrations, the orange stallion made his way outside.
By the time he got there, Tsuwari was worked into a fit, neighing and stomping. The foal threw his head a few times, then zapped one of Rose's flowers to a crisp.
"Whoa now, littl guy," The large stallion approached him and picked him up. Tsuwari began to resist, but then his eyes met those of the stallion. So much like his own, they were mesmerizing. Not breaking contact, Glasye said in a calm voice, "Relax. You're going to upset your mother." Not that I care, but I need you to be happy and respect me, and I know you care for her.. so listen, you little twirp.
Tsuwari's sobs quickly subsided and he did relax in the stallion's arms, ever fixed on his eyes.

"But Glasye is good now.. isn't he? I mean, he got punished, but he's.. he's.."
Rose exhaled. It wasn't so easy to explain....it never was easy to explain. "Tsuwari...just because someone is punished doesn't mean they become good right away...it takes time, and it might not even happen." She didn't want to get his hopes up...she didn't want to get her own hopes up.
"Him and me we.. we could face bad ponies.. we could..."
"I'm sure you could.," Rose kneeled down to wipe the tears forming in her young foal's face, "But not for a long time. You aren't big enough yet." And Rose would be d**ned if she willingly let her boy go into a big battle! A mild sensation of terror weld in her rebellious heart as she imagined her tiny foal rushing head strong into a fight. Rose shivered. She'd never forgive herself if he was hurt or killed. Never.
Rose quickly stepped nearer to Glayse as Tsuwari stopped his fit. Gently, she took him from his arms and held him close. "Glayse, what are you doing up? You have to rest, you can't let anyone else see you out here!," Rose hissed her concerns, her face mimicking her voice.
