"Nothing," Peri answered Jewel with a knowing smile, "Just talking aloud to myself. Naughty habit I picked up from acting in those Soaps." It was said unashamed, and he was certain that neither anyone there really had need of an explanation. There had been a time when Peri Winkle had never heard or cared for Soap Operas, but now, it would seem quite the opposite. "I'd like to be a script writer one day... Acting would be nice but I'd rather not be the center of attention, I'd like to be the brains behind it all." The white stallion smiled at his new white pegasus friend. "I see. I tried to do scripting once myself..." He made a kind of half hopeful, half of a messed look. "Let's just say that I'm much better suited to act than I am to write. I'm sure the ponies reviewing my material just wanted to shoot themselves." He smiled reassuringly afterwards, as he looked lightly on it, as he learned to do with most things. "I don’t own a TV...but from what i can make from it. there are programs on it in which you watch prerecorded plays and such?" Willow's words had perked Peri's interest. If he recalled right, Willow seam to even know who he was dressed up as during the Fest. Eve party. Back then he just took it as being that the alcohol made her judgment of his costume not up to recognizable par. Now it seamed that the white mare might have been uncultured. No, not uncultured...more likely a pony from an Amish settlement? No TV's and such?"TV's aren't all the spectacular.," he reassured her, "They distract ponies, and eat money up for electric and cable bills." He chuckled a little embarrassed, rubbing the back of his head. "I guess I shouldn't be telling you that when I work for Daytime TV. Scratch what I'd just said. Yoooouuu waannt tooo buuuuy aa Teeeee-veeee!" At that time, the earlier waitress returned with Peri's nutmeg expresso. He thanked her with the nod of his head and a smile, as she handed him his bill faced down. The time it took for actual service made Peri debate on a gift worthy tip or not. Tyr's sudden appearance more or left Peri Winkle's current though to just trail into oblivion, and it wasn't just due to an up in the level of Testosterone, he was certain of that. The actor couldn't quite place his hoof on it, but this gray stallion had a foreboding type of presence around him. Although every nerve of common logic told him this guy was trouble, Peri just ignored all the tall tale signs and found Tyr rather interesting. Heeeell-O tall, dark, and gruesome! He moved over in his end of the booth to allow Tyr room. "Hello there, stranger."

As soon as Tyr entered the Cafe, the amulet around the golden pegasus's neck began to hum slightly against her chest. Only a small sudden dart of her eyes gave away any sign that the pegasus had noticed something new. The intricate pendant was worn with centuries of time, and hung from a silver chain. In the center was a round fire opal, which displayed only a few different colors when... dormant. Jewel didn't know much about it, and had never really bothered to ask anyone. She had found it (or rather, it had found her) after a devastating storm in her old home. That's also when the voice came, as if it were a guardian attached to the amulet. All she knew was that when something powerful was near, or something was about to happen, it did strange things that inanimate objects otherwise wouldn't do.
As she sat next to Willow, the colors of the opal turned into a swirling gray, as if a small thundercloud were trapped in a tiny glass orb, giving off a soft light. Jewel glanced at the newcomer. What was his name... Tyr, they said? She had never seen him before. Crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against the edge of the table to hide her necklace, she took a closer look. It was then that, after the longest time, a faint but familiar voice rung in her ears, "There is a god among you... many, to be precise.." it had said briefly. Jewel's ear twitched, feeling as if someone had whispered very closely to her. She processed this information, making a mental note to try and find out more later.
"You know what they say about ponies who talk to themselves," Jewel smiled, eager to get back into the conversation as if nothing had happened, "That they're just lonely," She grinned, "And in need of some.. company."

Willow noticed Jewels sudden shift in positioned and wondered what she seemed to be hiding.. When jewel spoke Willow had to pry her eyes away from the small glimpse of the necklace she had seen.. It was glowing oddly.. "err Why yes! lonely! eheehe" Willow grinned out the side of her mouth Somthing was fishy.. somthing didnt seem right..

Star nodded softly. He sometimes wished he had been better at the things ponies thought were 'cool'. Like sport, and acting, and whatnot. But instead he had been good at music and art of sorts; Not really anything you could share with another unless you were in a band.

((don't mind if I butt in? )) Dream Chaser walked into the cafe, rather desperate to escape the summerheat seeing as his dark coat didn't help keep him cool. For once, the alicorn didn't bring along his feathers and such, although he kept the band around his horn. He avoided coming in close contact with Tyr though; there was just something about the other Dreamer didn't quite agree to. Some kind of power his teacher had taught him to become aware of.

Star Catcher turned as he heard someone walk in with his sensitive ears.
He searched the Alicorn with his eyes; He seemed okay. Star didn't mean to be judgemental but he didn't like to mix with the wrong sort.
((I'm just replying to anything; I'm bored!))

((lol.))
Dreamer felt the pegasus' eyes study him, and he turned his gaze to Star Catcher. The black alicorn watched back, his emerald coloured eyes unreadable, though he thought the same way towards Star Catcher.
He smiled at Star, relaxing. "Hello." He said cheerfully as he headed over to the pegasus. "I am Dream Catcher. I don't think I have seen you around before..."
((a bit bored too...))

A smile crept onto Star's face and he intruduced himself.
"Star Catcher. Nice to meet you. I've only been here a week." He held out his hoof to shake the Alicorn's.
((Not much else to write until you shake his hoof, lol. If you're bored how come you don't just get on msn and talk to me. We can be bored together.))

"It's a pleasure to meet you too Star Catcher." Dreamer said, shaking the pegasus's hoof. "Only been here a week huh? I haven't been here for too long myself unlike the other current residents. I can't understand why you chose to come here in summer though, rather than the other seasons."
It was rather obvious that Dreamer wasn't much of a summer fan...
((meh. I think I said a stirby in that last sentence... anyway can't bother going on msn. -.-' got to go to the doc's soon anyway.))

Star Catcher nodded in agreement. "Yes, I prefer any of the seasons to summer, but I just wanted to get away and to a place with lots of oppurtunities."
He moved over more, even though there wasn't much room left at the table. "Sit down," He asked in his cool demeanor. "There's room for one more."
He was rather proud of himself today; He had never had very good social skills; yet today he had made a number of friends. He decided to put it down to the warmness of Peri giving him a burst of confidence.
((About that eye thing?))

"I see..." Dreamer said with a nod. "Thanks." He took a seat.
"So what kind of opportunities are you after or hoping for, anyway?" Asked the alicorn.
((yeah... about the eye ball thing.))

Something glittered in the sunlight alongside the door. Curious Apple bent down to get a better look. Something silver. Poking at it, she heard a familiar crinkle sound. Turning the paper over, she discovered a candy wrapper from a bar of chocolate. Picking it up she tossed it in the wastebasket on the other side of the opened door.
Realizing that she was letting all the cool air out of the Cafe and all of the warm air in, she entered looking more than a little sheepish as she made her way towards the counter.

"You know what they say about ponies who talk to themselves. That they're just lonely and in need of some... company." Peri leaned on his left foreleg, elbow to the table, a challenging look to his face. His left eyebrow pulled up word, a sly grin forming on his lips. "Oh, is that so, Jewel.," he replied clearly looking straight at her face. Jewel's amulet went completely unnoticed to him. However, Willow's reaction, had not. Despite Willow was sitting far enough into the booth, where Peri Winkle's right eye could not see her clearly, he did pick up to the hint of her voice. There was a twinge in its pitch that was daft to how she normally spoke. Peri couldn't quite place why she seamed upset, but perhaps he was just over analyzing. "You know, Star Catcher," Peri Winkle returned to the other peg, "If you've been here just a week, I could look into a job for you. I've got a friend in scripting that owes a favor, and I'm sure if you wrote up a sample script, they'd hire you in." His face turned into that of an 'iffy' look. "But it is Soap scripting, so I'd understand a decline as you're not interested in that stuff." Dreamer's appearance was yet another surprise to Peri. Not that Peri felt something off as he had about Tyr, but he didn't see too many Ailicorns around either. Peri Winkle would still believe that pegasi were still more angelic looking, however, the unicorn horn atop a pegasus body always seemed to turn Peri away from seeing them in that light. He still did find them unique and intriguing though. "Dreamer, eh?," the white stallion added after Star's introduction, "Welcome to our growing populace that is our table! Peri Winkle's the name." Out of the corner of his right eye, Peri noticed Applejack making her stop at the counter. Now that mare had the right idea. Instead of lounging and waiting for a waitress, I should've just ordered there.

Apple half glanced over at the crowded table. The thought to join them crossed her mind, but she stopped before even taking that first step. Wouldn't she be forced to sit and talk with them soon enough anyway? What did adults talk about, she wondered. Certainly nothing like picnics and building sandcastles or of playing in the snow. Nothing quite so childish. Apple was dreading what would become of her after she turned eighteen in a couple of months. Would she wind up sitting at a table talking about rainbow only knew what, very possibly the weather.
A pang tugged on her heart as she thought of all she would lose when her birthday came. This year, it was not a happy celebration.
